About
Adam Bassett began his career as a lighting designer after graduating from the Central School of Speech and Drama (London) with first class honors. His career that resulted embraced an exceptionally wide variety of applications including theatre, dance, music, special events and architecture. His work, both as designer and associate has included projects in many parts of the world including the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Middle East and Asia.
Over the past eleven years Adam has collaborated extensively alongside the well acclaimed designer Patrick Woodroffe and has worked with him initially as an assistant designer and then associate/co. lighting designer. They have worked together in the creation of many a production; these including a truly divers array of projects – click the link below to see a collection of these.
Alongside the continued collaborations with Woodroffe, Adam works extensively on a range of projects independantly. Credits have included the West End production of Into the Hoods, the Rod Stewart Musical – Tonight’s the Night (UK Tour), the Doha International Film Festival, Vanishing Point - Cathy Seago & Dancers UK & Singapore tours, A Grand Night of Singing (Ashcroft Theatre), Napoli (Ballet) – Hong Kong APA, The Full Monty (ALAS), Fame the musical (GTC), the Holiday On Ice World Tour – Romanza, the Kingdom Centre Inauguration in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the Grand Opening Concert for Disneyland Hong Kong to name only a few.
Besides live entertainment Adam has worked on several long term architectural based / installation projects including the exterior & landscape lighting design for the Wynn Las Vegas resort, the Victoria & Albert Museum Madjestek Garden and the courtyard lighting at Somerset House. Other projects have included the Kinetic Atrium at the Wynn in Macau and most recently the Radisson Wine Tower in Zurich, Switzerland.
Industry Award
Adam Bassett along with Patrick Woodroffe and Dave Hill was awarded an EDDY Award by Lighting Entertainment Design. The award titled "The Consummate Lighting Team" was presented by Brian Croft in New York, June 2004.
